Recently, we hosted a Tech Talk on GraphQL at our House. The narrative was to explore how GraphQL differs from traditional APIs and uncover the multitude of benefits it offers. The highlight of the session was a hands-on demo to kickstart the journey of building a first GraphQL API. For senior practitioners, additional in-depth discussions and more complex issues were provided.
Where do we seek senior competence and inspiration? The answer is simple: within our own community. The Annevo House is brimming with skilled and experienced individuals, ready to pass on all their knowledge onto others in favour of developing new skills! It's the same collective driving force that empower us to create tailored solutions that surpass client expectations.
GraphQL is an open-source data query and manipulation language for APIs and a query runtime engine. GraphQL allows clients to request only the specific data they need from an API. Unlike traditional APIs with multiple endpoints, a GraphQL server has just one endpoint and sends back only the data requested by the client. Many popular public APIs adopted GraphQL as the default way to access them. These include public APIs of Facebook, GitHub, Yelp and Shopify.
